KRCG 13 has an exciting opportunity for you! We have an open position for a part-time meteorologist! The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include… * Forecasting, Producing and Presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers * Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events * Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories * Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations What skills do you need to be successful in our role? * Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is preferred * Extensive digital savvy, excellent writing skills * Previous experience preferred with The Weather Company (WSI) * Thorough knowledge of how to maximize The Weather Company (WSI) to create distinctive graphics presentations * High energy and engaging personality * Willingness to come in off duty when severe weather threatens our area * Team player, someone who understands it's about the team, not one individual * Proven track record of covering severe weather on-air and on digital * Proof of strong social media engagement While applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel. Responsibilities
