Description Parish: Saint Jude Shrine of the West Location: 1129 S. 38th Street, San Diego, CA 92113 Reports to: Office Manager Employment Type: Part-Time, 16 hours per week; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary: $18/hr. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist visitors Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls and emails; take messages and respond to inquiries Perform clerical/secretarial duties for the Pastor and staff Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages & deliveries Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, the use of parish facilities, celebrations, and Masses Prepare and send regular and bulk mailings Maintain the parish database and records up-to-date Maintain office files, records, and archives organized Prepare and distribute announcements and correspondence as directed Provide administrative support for ministries, events, and parish activities Ensure sensitive information is handled confidentially and securely. Requirements Fluent in both Spanish and English (spoken and written) - required Prior experience in reception, customer service, or administrative work Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office equipment Warm, welcoming demeanor with the ability to work well with diverse groups of people Knowledge and familiarity with the organizational structure and practices of the Roman Catholic Church Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in an office at a computer workstation and access information from a computer and use a telephone. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish facility to attend meetings and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
