Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled developer for a part-time position to support the installation, deployment, and integration of ONAP components, with a primary focus on the ONAP VES Collector. This role requires hands-on experience in setting up ONAP or O-RAN components from repositories, as well as developing integrations with the VES Collector using APIs and Java to ensure seamless operation within a telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and configure the ONAP VES Collector from the repository.
  • Install and integrate other required ONAP components as needed to support O-RAN SMO functionality.
  • Ensure proper connectivity and data flow between ONAP VES Collector and RAN elements.
  • Develop integrations with the ONAP VES Collector using APIs and Java.
  • Implement and test Java-based solutions to enhance VES Collector functionality and performance.
  • Ensure compatibility of custom integrations with O-RAN SMO requirements.
  • Work with open-source repositories to download, configure, and deploy ONAP or O-RAN components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dependencies, compatibility, and configurations during installation.
  • Conduct functional and integration testing to validate the installation and custom integrations.
  • Verify the compatibility of ONAP VES Collector with O-RAN interfaces (O1, O2).
  • Create detailed documentation of installation, configuration, and integration processes.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for maintaining ONAP components and custom solutions.

Key Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Experience in deploying ONAP components, particularly the VES Collector.
  • Knowledge of ONAP architecture and workflows related to VES data collection.
  • Proficiency in Java for API development and integration tasks.
  • Experience in developing and testing API-based integrations with ONAP components.
  • Familiarity with O-RAN SMO architecture and interfaces (O1, O2).
  • Understanding of RAN monitoring and telemetry requirements.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with open-source tools and libraries used in ONAP development.
  • Knowledge of data collection protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, and gRPC.
  • Knowledge of Spring framework.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
Proven experience in installing and configuring ONAP VES Collector or similar components. Hands-on experience working with O-RAN systems is a plus. Experience in Java-based development and API integration.
