Description Part-Time On-Call Banquet Server – Hotel Events- MUST HAVE US WORK AUTHORIZATION Position Summary: The Banquet Server supports hotel events by setting up, serving, and breaking down banquet functions in accordance with brand standards and guest expectations. This on-call role is ideal for candidates seeking flexible scheduling and a dynamic, team-oriented environment. All duties must be performed in compliance with California labor laws, including rest and meal periods, overtime, and tip handling. Key Responsibilities: Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and décor. Greet guests warmly and provide attentive food and beverage service throughout the event. Serve plated meals, buffet items, and beverages in a professional and efficient manner. Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests or concerns. Clear tables, reset service areas, and assist with post-event breakdown and cleanup. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in all banquet areas. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, banquet captains, and fellow servers. Follow all hotel policies regarding alcohol service, food safety, and guest interaction. Adhere to California wage and hour laws, including accurate timekeeping and break compliance. Qualifications: Prior banquet or restaurant serving experience preferred. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and short-notice shifts. Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol; valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required in California. Schedule & Compensation: Part-time, on-call position with variable hours based on event needs. Compensation includes hourly wage plus applicable service charges or gratuities. All hours subject to California labor regulations, including overtime and split shift premiums when applicable.
