ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Pharmacist at Simple Online Healthcare, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient supply of medicines to patients using our digital healthcare services. Working closely with our clinical and operational teams, you will help maintain a high standard of care while supporting the ongoing improvement of our systems and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clinical / Accuracy Checking: Ensure all prescriptions are clinically appropriate, accurately dispensed, and meet internal safety and legal requirements.
  • Telephone / Video Consultations: You will support the clinical team by conducting telephone or video consultations, where appropriate. These consultations are primarily to verify patient information such as weight or other key treatment details when additional assurance is needed. A confident, clear, and empathetic consultation manner is essential for engaging with patients and ensuring safe prescribing outcomes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to GPhC standards, ensure SOPs are followed, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy law and best practice.
  • Operational Oversight: Collaborate with dispensers, packers, and clinical teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently and within service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Workflow & Efficiency: Support the streamlining of day-to-day operations, helping reduce dispatch times while maintaining patient safety and accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Identify and report near misses, clinical errors, or discrepancies, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to dispensers in training, supporting their professional development.
  • Audit Readiness: Support audit preparation and participate in internal or regulatory inspections as required.
  • Responsible Pharmacist Duties: From time to time, you may be required to act as the Responsible Pharmacist in the absence of senior pharmacists. Appropriate support will be provided to ensure you’re confident in this role when needed.
