JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising, training, directing, and accounting for Inmate Workers in the processing and packaging of food items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintaining quality of products by ensuring that all workers follow USDA food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop productive work teams through effective training and supervision practices.
  • Ensure all required reporting is complete, accurate and performed in a timely manner according to prescribed procedures.
  • Ensure proper processing of products by monitoring all aspects of the machinery and work area.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure that all employees are following prescribed safety procedures including proper use of PPE.
  • Ensure daily production goals are communicated and met.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school/GED. 3-5 years’ experience in a production supervisory position. 2 years’ experience working in a food processing plant.
  • Language Skills: Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Reading comprehension.
  • Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: HACCP certified or willing to obtain shortly after hire, working knowledge of SSOP and GMP procedures. Understanding of applicable requirements of HACCP, SSOP’s, GMP’s, OSHA, and USDA Regulation.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: People/leadership skills. Personal time management. Honest, straightforward, dependable, pleasant, adaptable.
