Functions: A Part-Time Professor is required for the following course: Term Course code Course title Faculty Autumn 2026 IPA 6135 (C00) Internal clinical practicum in Individual counselling and psychotherapy I (Part 1 of 2 Practice) Faculties of Human Sciences and Philosophy Description of the delivery mode (000): This type of course is offered in the classroom, in the presence of the professor and students Date Schedule Mode of Delivery Language September 9, 2026- December 9, 2026 Tuesday 9:00AM-12:00PM In person EN Course description: Introduction to basic trans-theoretical skills, client needs assessment (intake interview), charting, confidentiality and informed consent, and safe and effective use of self. Other topics covered include definitions of counseling and psychotherapy, roles of the psychotherapist, client motivation, phases of psychotherapy, empathy, eye contact, proxemics, paralanguage, silence, listening for verbal and non-verbal messages, closed, open-ended questions, summarizing, paraphrasing, emotional reflections, effectiveness of psychotherapy, problem formulation, goals/objectives, suicide risk assessment and crisis intervention as well as managing boundaries. Includes 6 hours of theoretical and practical learning, applied clinical exercises, as well as 1 to 2 hours of clinical practice (practicum) and 2 to 3 hours of supervision per week. Graded P/F. Required experience and qualifications: * Graduate degree (minimum an MA in Counselling, Psychotherapy or related field). * Registration with a professional College. * Significant clinical experience relevant to program concentrations (i.e. working with couples and families, working with adult clients). * Relevant pedagogical skills for teaching the Practicum and ability to coordinate with the clinical supervisors. * Passive proficiency in the second official language * Sensitivity to multiple differences (including abilities, genders, and cultures) and to students' concerns. * Proficiency with both in-person and online learning tools Please submit your application (letter of intent and CV) online using the job posting system, by June 28, 2026, 11:59 PM.
