JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of meals and ensure that food safety standards are upheld in our kitchen. This role is perfect for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a vibrant restaurant environment while contributing to the overall success of our kitchen operations.
This is a permanent position which will require daytime, evenings and weekend availability on a rota basis

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a busy kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for cooking and willingness to learn is key.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
  • A passion for culinary arts, with an eagerness to develop skills in meal preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
    Due to our rural location, reliabilty to commute is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in meal preparation under the guidance of Chef Manager ensuring high-quality food standards are met.
  • Help with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes eg Salads, Sandwiches etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils and equipment after use.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support the kitchen team during service periods by assisting with plating and presenting dishes.
  • Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately.
