JOB SUMMARY:

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff at Bridhaven Nursing Home. This role requires a professional, welcoming, and compassionate individual who can manage a busy reception area while providing administrative support to the management and nursing teams. The Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by handling inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting both residents and staff in a respectful and efficient manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is desirable
  • Experience in elder care is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland - applicants must hold EU/EEA citizenship or have the right to work in Ireland without restriction (unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time)
Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet visitors as they enter and leave the building in a warm and professional manner
  • Maintain a log of all visitors and ensure they sign in and out correctly
  • Provide a welcoming presence for residents as you meet them throughout the home
  • Answer the telephone, transfer and screen calls, and/or take messages in a polite, professional manner
  • Maintain and update resident files accurately
  • Draft and issue correspondence on behalf of management staff as required
  • Accept payments from residents and/or families and issue receipts
  • Order stationery and monitor stock levels
  • Provide daily checklists to nurses as required
  • Maintain records of resident outings and updated resident listings
  • Set up new admissions on internal systems and keep records accurate and current
  • Register new starters on Complete GPLog and maintain records of residents’ valuables
