For more information about the University, please visit https://www.hkmu.edu.hk We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will mainly assist in a Cantonese Opera Research Centre in which various aspects of Cantonese opera in Hong Kong will be put into research. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Conducting preliminary research of the research project; Data collection, such as developing questionnaires and conducting interviews; Data analyses, and exploration of ways of data archive; Providing assistance in writing papers/reports; Providing support to the research team, coordination and liaison with internal and external parties at various levels; Organizing academic conference(s) and seminar(s), and Performing other duties as assigned. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A recognized degree in language, literature, translation, theatre, opera music or a related discipline; Preferably have experience in data analyses and research works; Strong organizational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and competent at computer skills (MS Office using Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) as well as editing skills; Good command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and Detail-oriented, hardworking, responsible, and able to meet deadlines and work independently. Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time fixed term contract and work of no more than 17 hours per week. Payment will be made on an hourly basis (based on actual work done). Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions. Responsibilities
