JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Professor Shirley Moody-Turner is seeking applicants for a part-time Research Assistant to conduct intensive digital, archival, and bibliographic research to support the completion of the Anna Julia Cooper biography under contract with Yale University Press.

Job duties to include:

• database searches, particularly newspapers and periodicals
• bibliographic research and literature reviews
• digital and archival research
• document scanning

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

• demonstrated research skills in these areas
• knowledge of 19th-early 20th American literature/intellectual history
• excellent organizational and communication skills
• keen attention to detail
• ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule:

• The research will start in June and run for approximately 80 hours.

Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $25/hour.
