Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and a fine dining or banquet experience by serving food and beverage to our guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide exceptional customer service. • Trained in compliance with local Board of Health rules and regulations. • Stock and maintain all items related to shift checklists. • Meet, greet and direct to tables all guests in a professional and courteous manner. Acknowledge guests waiting to be seated and update them periodically. • Suggest and provide information on menu items. • Take guest food and/or beverage orders, and in-put in the point-of sale system in the approved time slot as directed by immediate supervisor. • Present checks to guests and finalize room charges or payments in the POS terminals or handheld devices. • Prepare food and beverage for service to hotel guests. • Present food and beverage according to established health and presentation standards. • Memorize menu items and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations. • Collaborate with bussers to clean, stock and restock food items and tableware on restaurant buffets as required. • Clean, stock and restock bar beverages, ice and service items. • Clean and restock all work and back of house areas as instructed. • Ensure tables are properly set for service. • Collaborate with bussers to clear tables for service and clear used items during a meal as required for the optimal customer experience. • Cover banquet tables with linen and skirts and stock and restock banquet buffets with food items and tableware as necessary. • Attend mandatory meetings and hotel functions. • Input to-go orders and package food for pickup as required. • Room service tasks such as food delivery and periodic tray removal from floors as necessary. • Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook. • Report all wear and tear or furniture and/or equipment, as well as any safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager. • Perform other duties as assigned or needed. EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Three months of related experience • Serve Safe certification and required re-certifications. SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES REQUIRED: • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, coworkers, vendors and customers. • Experience with food service a plus.
