Now Hiring a part time Safety Coordinator in our Edison, NJ plant! What We Offer You: Work flexible day shift hours, 20-29 hours per week. $32 per hour We care about your safety, which means we do what’s needed to protect our employees and that’s reflected in our “Drive to Zero Injuries” initiative results. Edison is Silgan’s first facility to install on-site solar. What You’ll Do: Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to help meet workplace safety standards. Partner on the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety protocols and procedures. Help organize and deliver training sessions on topics such as hazard identification, emergency planning, and personal protective equipment usage. Monitor and document safety incidents, assist with investigations, and recommend corrective measures. Facilitate environmental compliance efforts by helping implement programs related to waste management, energy efficiency, and pollution prevention. Track environmental performance metrics, including energy use, water consumption, and waste reduction progress. Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including data collection and reporting for environmental impact assessments. Assist in preparing reports, maintaining accurate safety and environmental records, and facilitating regulatory audits. We Need You To Have: High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and on your own.
