OVERVIEW

We are currently hiring a Science Tutor to join our team and provide academic support to students in Grades 6 to 12. The ideal candidate will be confident teaching General Science (Grades 6–10) and specialized subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (Grades 11–12). Sessions are offered both in person at our Mississauga (Heartland) location and online.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience in science (preferred)
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more high school sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Familiarity with Ontario science curriculum expectations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with youth in educational settings is an asset
  • Comfortable using digital tools for online tutoring sessions
  • Enthusiastic about helping students succeed and build confidence in science.
  • Strong background in classroom management and tutoring techniques.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in science subjects
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to align with the Ontario science curriculum
  • Support students with homework, labs, projects, and test/exam preparation
  • Simplify complex concepts to improve understanding and engagement
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate with parents/guardians about student performance, as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and student progress
