Status: Part Time Job Purpose: The Groomer is responsible for operating a grooming machine to prepare the ski area snow for skiing and snowboarding. The Groomer also performs grooming machinery inspections and maintains the groomer in working order. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to customers, employees and business partners. Operate tracked grooming equipment on ski trails to create the best skiing surface possible for the conditions. Perform inspection of equipment before and after operation of grooming machinery. Assist with grooming machinery maintenance including checking fluid levels, condition of machinery and other areas in order to maintain grooming machinery in a safe and proper working order. Document and report the condition of grooming machinery to the manager. Operate grooming machinery and perform job duties and responsibilities in extreme weather conditions during the late evening and early morning hours of the day. Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, paths, equipment and other areas as necessary. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Able to lift up to 50lbs (raking, shoveling & lifting large metal objects) Able to work outdoors in adverse winter weather conditions for up to10 hours/day Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English fluently Must be able to direct guests and look out for safety concerns Must have a good work ethic Demonstrates strong willingness to learn and develop Must have a valid drivers license Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays Must be able to lift up to70lbs Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent Experience and/or Training: No experience necessary Licenses/Certificates: N/A Technology/Equipment: Skis, Shovels, Rakes Physical and mental demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
