Overview and Responsibilities SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire East Salary: £12.37 to £13.22 p/hr depending on experience and qualifications Hours: Part-Time 0.6FTE – 3 days per week (Mon-Wed) – Term Time Only The Aurora Group We’re really pleased to have opened Aurora Summerfields School in April 2023 in Wilmslow with a capacity of 50 students. This is an independent specialist school for young people aged 5 to 19, who face a range of challenges in accessing education, these challenges are typically associated with Autism spectrum conditions. The school received ratings of ‘Outstanding’ in the areas of behaviour and attitudes and personal development in the most recent Ofsted inspection. We are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join us. The Role / Key duties: As our new Teaching Assistant, your role is to support our children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic individual to play a key role in supporting our pupils' learning and development. You will build warm, caring, and supportive relationships that help children feel safe, valued, and ready to enjoy their school experience. In this role, you will encourage independence, nurture personal growth, and uphold high expectations of behaviour at all times. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences across a broad and balanced curriculum, enabling every child to reach their full potential. Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required. Full Job Description Skills and Qualifications Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting Full UK driving licence and access to your own car desirable GCSE Maths and English Level 3 or above qualification is essential. A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent is desirable Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
