As a Skill Development Facilitator with the Youth Skill Development unit, your role will be to implement SCC’s strategic priorities: Turn action into knowledge and knowledge into action, Strengthen Others through Networking, and Strengthen our function as a Node in the Youth Thriving Web. You will be helping in the creation of activities and workshops for the SCC and our network partners. You will also help with the facilitation of workshops and their evaluation for both our internal and project partners’ needs.

  • You will support the Youth Skill Development Unit achieving its purpose. This department works across the organization to support local & virtual youth engagement & skill-building youth programs grounded in our Four Pillars with a focus on contributions outside of self. These contributions outside of self will focus on creating opportunities for youth and adults who support them to contribute to meaningful systems change in their communities and in our country. The skills they build addressing system-level issues will support them in building a better world and prepare them for the complexities of the 21st century.
  • You will help create evaluation and research plans grounded in the Sharing the Stories™ platform.
  • You will take a relationship-building inter-generational “working with” approach in all that you do at SCC by using the Four Pillars™, T.R.U.S.T. Framework and the SCC’s cultural practices as your foundation.
  • You will synthesize data to produce meaningful products tailored to the multiple audiences; youth participants, youth program staff (external and internal) and funder partners.
  • You will use the SCC’s knowledge into action cycle to ensure high quality products are produced.
  • You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our academic partners within the Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement Team. The products that you contribute to may be published on websites, at conferences, as grey literature or in academic journals.
  • Participating in all shared team meetings at SCC. This includes a mix of virtual and in-person meeting spaces.
  • You will be employed to work remotely but will be expected to meet in person with SCC program partners.
