Description Job Description: Walden Family Services, a foster care and adoption agency, is looking for a part-time Skills Trainers to assist the Social Workers and to provide additional support and assistance to foster families and foster children with behavioral, developmental, health and/or emotional needs. The services of the Skills Trainer will be a component of an individualized service plan developed for each child. Specific responsibilities and duties will vary depending on the service plan, needs of the child, and needs of foster parents and will include supporting youth in achieving their goals in the community and supervising visitation. Travel throughout San Bernardino, Riverside and surrounding areas will be required. Applicant must be available to work evenings and occasional weekends. High school diploma is required. 3. Bachelor’s Degree in child development, behavioral science, or related field preferred. 4. Education and/or background in child development and/or behavioral science required. 5. A minimum of one year of experience working with children and families. Experience working with children with special needs preferred. 6. Able to establish effective rapport with children, adolescents, adoptive, foster and biological families. 7. Positive role model for children/adolescents. 8. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. 9. Due to the requirement for community-based services and client transportation, a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record are required. 10. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearances from the Department of Justice. 11. Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility.
Responsibilities
