SPORTS COACH

Active Sport Ireland is a leading multi-sport provider offering after-school programs and holiday camps for children aged 4-12. We aim to develop physical literacy in a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment, fostering confidence, resilience, and social skills.
We are looking to recruit three enthusiastic and dependable sports coaches to support delivering our multi-sport after-school programs and holiday camps in South Dublin.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or teaching children (ages 4-12).
  • Third-level or NGB coaching qualification in sport.
  • Self-motivated, Proactive and Reliable.
  • Energetic, professional, and engaging coaching style.
  • Availability weekdays between 1 PM & 4 PM and school holidays for camps.
  • Successful candidates must complete Garda Vetting and provide references.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare thoroughly for each week by reading and understanding session plans in advance, attending weekly team meetings, and collecting all necessary equipment to deliver the upcoming sessions effectively.
  • Travel to a different partner school each day, arriving 15 minutes before each session for set-up and to follow agreed child collection procedures.
  • Warmly welcome children at each session with high energy, enthusiasm, and a friendly attitude to help the children feel confident and included from the start.
  • Lead engaging, structured sports sessions introducing children to over 10 sports, focusing on developing Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) through games and skill zones.
  • Coach and observe FMS development, adapting activities to suit different abilities and encouraging participation, effort, and progress.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where all children feel valued, supported, and motivated to try their best.
  • Set up and pack away all equipment efficiently, ensuring safety and readiness for each session.
  • We promote and reward positive behaviour and sports values. At the end of the session, we present the Star of the Day award.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with parents, school staff, and colleagues, always acting as an ambassador for Active Sport Ireland.
  • Deliver basic First Aid as needed and follow all safeguarding procedures to ensure child safety and well-being.
  • Accurately complete session-related documentation, including attendance records & incident reports.
