This part-time position starts at $13.50/hour plus tips averaging $5–$7/hour, with opportunities to learn about wine and be part of a nationally recognized team. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience at Oliver Winery by serving and sharing knowledge of wines and assisting customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Greets customers promptly and courteously. Creates a welcoming environment for the customer by assisting, as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs. Guides customers to wines they enjoy. Assists with setup and cleanup of daily operations and special events. Stocks wine and retail merchandise in the tasting room. Assists with quarterly inventory and accurately performs money handling procedures. Offers tours of the winemaking facility. Additional duties, as assigned by the Management. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, primarily weekends. Weekend availability is a must. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day. Must be able to possess an Indiana Bartender’s Permit. Experience in retail or customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Solid math skills. Because of the nature of this position, must be at least 21 years of age to apply. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the ability to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day. You will also need the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds when working on the retail floor. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Annual performance review conducted by Management. Typical Schedule: Shift availability and length varies, dependent on the season and Hospitality needs. Shift length typically varies between 5-8 hours and the typical schedule will be 10-20 hours per week mostly on weekends (Fri-Sun) until 9pm.
