UWCSEA has a vacancy at its Dover Campus for a Part Time Teacher of Primary School Spanish to start end of September/early October until June 2026. The appointee will teach Language B (foreign language) classes from Beginner to Intermediate level for Grade 3 to Grade 5. Enthusiasm for and experience of teaching students between a g e ran ge 6 to 11 is essential.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are an excellent and inspiring practitioner with the drive to continually develop within the profession.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teachers should be willing to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Spanish Department and Primary School team.
  • Teachers construct learning experiences that challenge students, support diverse learners in each classroom, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
  • Teachers utilise the UWCSEA Learning Principles as a foundation for effective teaching and learning.
  • Teachers ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
  • Teachers demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
  • Teachers keep parents informed about the learning of their children, and be proactive in communication with parents.

Person Specifications

  • A good degree with a specialization in an area specific to this position and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are expected.
  • The ideal candidate has a proven record as a successful Spanish teacher at Primary School level.
  • Academic expectations include enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners
  • Applicants should have a passion for working with 6 –11 y e ar olds and understand their unique developmental needs.
