Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging lesson plans that promote learning and development
  • Provide early intervention and support for children with special needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Conduct assessments to track children’s progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other classroom teachers to support children’s educational goals
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies to enhance literacy education
  • Provide small group academic support as needed

Requirements:

  • Appropriate Certification for grade/subject area
  • Successful prior teaching experience in grades K-8 and/or K-12
  • Must pass CHRU background check
  • Must have recent Tuberculosis screening

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school setting
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
  • Familiarity with special education techniques and strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning and classroom management
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
