Standby Education is on the lookout for two Primary Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant school in Derby, working with Key Stage 2 pupils. These part-time roles offer you the flexibility to choose 2-3 days per week that work best for you. About the Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2, you will:
✅ Support teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
✅ Provide 1:1 and small group support to enhance students’ learning outcomes
✅ Help foster a positive learning environment where students feel supported
✅ Assist with preparation and organisation of learning materials
✅ Encourage student participation and engagement in lessons
✅ Work closely with children to help them build confidence and independence
This role is a fantastic opportunity to stand by students and support their learning journey while enjoying the flexibility of part-time work.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
✨ Experience supporting children in Key Stage 2 (desirable but not essential)
✨ A positive and nurturing approach to working with children
✨ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✨ Ability to adapt to different learning styles and provide tailored support
✨ A passion for helping students thrive academically and socially
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but we welcome applicants with relevant experience too.
