WFAA is looking for a cross-platform editor to join our team.
The ideal candidate local television newsroom experience with workflows and processes with editing of video, graphics and motion. This person is also a forward thinker and wants to play a vital role in streaming and digital platforms. It is important to be proficient at creating captivating and shareable content for television, streaming, social media, and mobile platforms.
You must be a self-starter who is technologically savvy and can work under tight deadlines.
We are looking for individuals who possess a keen artistic eye, a deep understanding of editing and photography techniques, and a passion for storytelling.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing systems using Edius, Premiere, and Photoshop
  • Belief and commitment to ethical standards of journalism
  • Deep interest content creation digital and social platforms
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules
  • Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends
Responsibilities
  • Work with Executive Producers and Digital leadership to support needs of linear, streaming, digital and social
  • Use editing tools to create content for Newscast and Digital platforms.
  • Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
  • Work closely with news producers, reporters, photojournalists and the digital team.
  • Comfortable with Adobe and other high end editing software
  • Familiarity with digital content management systems a plus
