PAY RATE: $16.17 per hour (Up to 1,500 hours per year) Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Click here for details. AVAILABILITY: Holiday, evening and weekend availability is required Shift times vary between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., with some exceptions. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the operation and maintenance of the toll booth and assisting in park operations as time permits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Verifies permits and change fund in the morning. Scan annual permit holder passes as they enter the park. Ask park patron for Zip Code data for each annual and daily permit sold. Collects permit fees from vehicles entering the park. Utilizes the point of sale system to make all transactions. Keeps sufficient supply of permits and change on hand and request partial pick-up as needed. Maintains sufficient supply of park maps and other brochures. Knowledgeable about park rules, regulations, and policies and information regarding facilities. Disseminates information to park visitors. Familiar with current and future special events that may be going on in park and other parks. Assists park operations as time allows. Maintains a clean and well-organized toll booth. Ability to stand and/or sit for several hours in a work area subject to varying weather conditions. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTITES: The above is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Ability to positively interact with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors. Ability to distinguish letters and symbols. Ability to perform cash and credit transactions quickly and accurately. Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to load, unload and move materials from one location to another. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED: Telephone, radio and point of sale system.
