We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology: Part-time Tutorship (2026 Autumn Term starting in September) Undergraduate Courses Requirements COMP 2120SED Network Programming And Design An honours degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related discipline. Applicants must be well versed in Java, CGI, XML, Unix, NT, C, C++, Network Programming, Design and Security. COMP 3630SED Discrete Structures An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching experience in discrete mathematics and programming would be an advantage. COMP S201 Computing Fundamentals With Java An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or passed the British Computer Society Examination parts I and II or equivalent. Experience in an object-oriented language, preferably Java, is required. Teaching experience would be an advantage. COMP S258 Computer Programming and Problem Solving An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching experience at tertiary level or industry experience in C programming would be an advantage. COMP S260 Computer Architecture and Operating Systems An honours degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage. COMP S263 Discrete Structures An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching experience in discrete mathematics and programming would be an advantage. COMP S311 Advanced Java Programming and Mobile Application Development An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching or practical experience in Java and mobile application development would be an advantage. COMP S356 Software Engineering and Project Management An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience with UML and software development would be an advantage. COMP S359 Relational Databases: Theory & Practice An honours degree, preferably a higher degree, in Computer Science or a related subject plus knowledge of relational databases. Relevant working experience would be an advantage. COMP S368 Networks and Distributed Systems An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching or working experience in networking and distributed systems would be an advantage. COMP S450 Applied Computing Project An honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching or working experience in project management would be an advantage. COMP S491 Machine Learning and Applications An honours degree, preferably a higher degree, in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching or working experience in machine learning technology would be an advantage. ELEC 3220SED Circuit Analysis And Logic Design An honours degree in Electronics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. 3 years’ postgraduate experience would be an advantage. ELEC 3240SED Computers And Processors An honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline plus tertiary level teaching experience or relevant industrial experience. ELEC 4020SED Electronics Project Course An honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering or a related discipline. Some research experience gained at a university or industry and ability to supervise honours degree level projects are required. ELEC S225 Analogue Circuits An honours degree in Electronics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. 3 years’ postgraduate experience would be an advantage. ELEC S323 Information Theory and Digital Communications An honours degree in Electronics, preferably a higher degree in Electronics, Communications, Information Technology or a related discipline. Experience in teaching Communications at tertiary level would be an advantage. ELEC S332 Computer Networks An honours degree, preferably a higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Communications Engineering or equivalent. Teaching experience at tertiary level or relevant industrial experience would be an advantage. ELEC S402 Electronics Project Course An honours degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering or a related discipline. Some research experience gained at a university or industry and ability to supervise honours degree level projects are required. Applicants with professional qualification(s) (e.g. HKIE, IEE or U.K. Engineering Council, etc.) would be an advantage. ENGG 3280SED Engineering Professional Practice An honours degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline. Applicants with tertiary teaching, related industrial experience or a professional qualification (e.g. HKIE, CEng or U.K. Engineering Council, etc.) would be an advantage. IT 1230SED Introduction To Internet Services And Applications A relevant honours degree plus extensive experience in the use of the Internet including the WWW. Tutors will need access to a computer system capable of connecting to the Internet. IT 2340SED Web Site Design An honours degree in Computing or an Internet-related discipline. Practical experience in website design at a professional level would be an advantage. IT S101 Introduction to Information and Communications Technology An honours degree, preferably a higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching or working experience in web application development would be an advantage. MATH S121 A Foundation in Pure Mathematics An honours degree, preferably a higher degree in Mathematics or a related discipline. Teaching experience would be an advantage. MATH S122 A Foundation in Applied Mathematics An honours degree, preferably a higher degree in Mathematics or a related discipline. Teaching experience would be an advantage. STAT 2420SED Statistics In Society An honours degree, preferably a higher degree in Statistics or a related discipline. Teaching or experience in the use of statistics would be an advantage. Duration of Appointment Tutors are normally appointed for approximately one to two terms, depending on the length of the course. Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Training will be provided.
