QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum post-secondary diploma or degree in relevant Human Services field, e.g. Social Work, Criminology, Psychology, Social Services or an equivalent combination of experience and education
· Knowledge regarding intimate partner violence, child abuse, and the dynamics of violence and abuse
· Experience in group and one-on-one facilitation
· Able to articulate an analysis of intimate partner violence as it relates to gender roles, socialization, the dynamics of power and control, and the effects of abuse
· Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
· Experience working with at-risk populations.
· Knowledge of community resources.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and online meeting platforms
· Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check approved by Management for this position as per Agency requirement and practice in this sector.

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE
The Partner Assault Response (PAR) Program is a 12 session Court initiated psycho-educational program provided to individuals 18+ who have been referred to the John Howard Society due to their involvement with Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). The program has two primary goals: to enhance safety and to increase accountability. The aim of PAR is to provide group members with the opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards intimate partner violence, power, and control and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict.
Program eligibility requires that PAR is added as a condition of bail, undertaking of recognizance or 810 Peace Bond. It can also be a part of a probation order.
The primary function of this position is to co-facilitate weekly sessions for the PAR Program in person.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Deliver programming to clients participating in the PAR Program
· Complete weekly attendance
· Complete all required reports, as directed by supervisor.
· Communicate any issues pertaining to group attendance, participation and behaviours to your supervisor.
· Refer clients to internal and external community resources, when required.
· Where possible, attend Adult Justice training courses and team meetings to work on updating and developing program materials.
· Adhere to the directives of the PAR program as set out in the PAR Standards.
· Always maintain and respect professional boundaries with clients and coworkers
· Best Practices & Accountability
· Stay informed of issues, evidence-based research, & best practices re: family violence, psycho-educational programs, anti-oppressive practices, trauma/resilience informed practices.
· Ensure program delivery protects client, & community safety.
· Adhere to standard professional guidelines & agency protocols on confidentiality & ethics.
· Consult regularly with co-facilitator and the Adult Justice team.
