Mō te Tūranga | About the Role Due to an internal promotion, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly ambitious and motivated team player to progress their career in an equally challenging yet exciting role, as a Business Partner in Dunedin. We spoke with our Senior Partner, who let us know the following about the role: What does a day in the life of a Business Partner look like? New and existing client meetings in the office or off-site in their business. Proactively developing relationships with new and existing clients. Growing relationships with local professionals and referral networks. Undertaking Business Development activities in your local market and attending relevant events. Working through funding requirements to help our customers grow. Collaborating with a great team to support our customers goals. What attributes will this person have in order to be successful? We are looking for someone with a great attitude and desire to contribute to a high performing team! Ideally you will have existing strong business acumen and business development skills. You may already have an established professional network, or a proven ability to grow a network, in order to acquire new business. You will also have excellent attention to detail and an overwhelming desire to serve our customers brilliantly. We are looking for an experienced banker, in addition to that great attitude. While we don’t require direct lending experience, it is certainly preferred. What is the team culture and environment like? You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team of experienced and high performing Business Partners, allowing you to share knowledge, learn from others and continually grow and develop. Our 6 weeks of annual leave is the best in the industry, and we have an experienced Relief Team who will cover the portfolio while they are away for larger periods. What will success look like for the candidate in this role? Supporting a portfolio of business customers and prospective customers, as well as a wider team in Dunedin including Commercial, Agri, Private and Home Lending Partners alongside the region’s Credit Coaches and Associates, to achieve their growth ambitions. Being a well-rounded contributor, including supporting business development and managing the Banks risk. Success in this role is about helping more customers become successful, meaning growing market share and revenue are paramount. We require a full 5 days a week in the business, with a large proportion being out of the office visiting customers, prospects, and professionals.
