Location: Canberra
The Communication, Marketing, Partnerships and Events section is responsible for promoting and profiling National Archives of Australia through publishing and production, brand management, marketing, public relations, media, social media, strategic partnerships, corporate events, retail activities and the Members Program. The section supports National Archives’ key role of providing an accessible, visible and interpreted national archival collection.

Under limited direction the main duties of the role are to:

  • Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate high quality corporate events within required timeframes and budgets.
  • Support the development of domestic partnerships with the public and private sectors through strategic stakeholder engagement and collaboration by drafting partnership agreements, participating in working groups, maintaining the partnerships register and researching and analysing future partnership opportunities.
  • Provide support to National Archives’ donor program including monitoring incoming donations, receipting, reporting, updating standard operating procedures, drafting donor communications and maintaining the donor register.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate events and partnerships policies, strategies and plans.
  • Provide event and partnership administrative support as required, including taking meeting minutes and processing invoices.
  • Supervise the APS 5 Membership Coordinator, developing skills and helping to build team capacity including through performance development, and support the planning and delivery of the NAA membership program.
  • Develop relationships and work productively and collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to identify and respond to opportunities to promote the work of National Archives and the collection.

Tertiary qualifications or professional experience in a relevant and/or related field is highly desirable.
