Elevate your career with a unique opportunity as a Tax Accountant at Fieldfisher. We are seeking a tax professional, who is ready to make an impact in a growing, European law firm.
The role calls for someone with a strong understanding of corporate and/or partnership accounting. You will be tax-qualified with experience in partnership and/or corporate taxation within a law firm or professional services environment.
The role will work across the Partnership Accounting and Tax function, and you will be working within a skilled team, including the Partnership Tax Senior Manager, the wider finance group, and European colleagues.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a robust process around Partnership reporting globally;

  • Assist with queries on drawings, capital and tax globally
  • Assist with the firm’s tax and reporting obligations (eg STBVA, PSA etc)
  • Review tax computations for partnerships and LLPs within the group, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare tax equalisation calculations and manage recharging of costs.
  • Compile information for personal tax reliefs.
  • Assist with the bi-annual partners’ tax payments, working with external tax advisors to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Oversee and assist with partners’ tax reserving, including DTR and equalisation
  • Support the firm’s cash flow forecasting related to tax payments.
  • Serve as a contact for HMRC, partners, external tax advisors, and partners’ accountants on tax matters.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Senior Manager
  • Undertake ad hoc projects related to the firm’s and partners’ tax affairs.
  • Assist with ad hoc tax matters such as withholding tax, PE risks, IR35 and global mobility matters.
  • Coordinate with the firm’s global accounting functions and external advisers
  • Liaising and networking with other teams in London and Belfast.
