ABOUT THE ROLE
We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves, and our students and this role will be a key one in supporting the College’s mission to be consistently great and ensure our students get the qualifications and skills they need to go further in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training and university level courses.
This role will contribute to the College’s partnership development in accordance with the Partnership theme of the college’s strategic plan 2025-2030 which states that we will be “a trusted partner in the city and wider region”. Specifically, in agreement with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the role will contribute to and where agreed, lead on and take responsibility for developing key partnerships in some or all of the following:
- Managing, developing and growing specific key employer partnerships
- Actively engaging with stakeholders and civic institutions to build close working and supportive partnerships
- Proactively collaborating with specific educational organisations to develop initiatives that address local and regional skills needs
- Growing our partnership activity with community and voluntary organisations in the city to foster social cohesion and inclusivity
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties as agreed with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and develop key partnerships with specific employers, stakeholders, community organisations and education providers, ensuring that the College is a preferred provider for education and training (including apprenticeships and adult courses) as well as other curriculum activities such as work placements, co-delivery teaching models, and career opportunities for students.
- Support and lead where required the College’s input on specific partnership initiatives.
- In the context of supporting the implementation of the college’s strategic plan, contribute to the delivery of the college’s: 1) employer engagement and partnerships strategy; 2) community engagement plan; 3) other partnership plans as they are developed
- Where appropriate, take responsibility for achieving agreed income and business targets.
- Proactively seek new opportunities, contracts and funding streams to meet local skills needs.
- Working collaboratively with Partners, develop new service propositions for organisations, sectors and communities where there is a need.
- Assist and lead where required in the preparation and submission of specific funding bids including bid writing and tender pricing.
- Provide regular reports on performance and progress.
- Undertake market research and gather market intelligence to inform proposition and product development and identify future skills needs
- Work with cross-college departmental peers to support the implementation of an effective approach to all employer-facing and other partnership opportunities.
- Promote and ensure a customer-focused culture of high performance and excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Keep up-to-date partnership records using the College’s CRM system, ensuring the College processes and procedures are followed.
- Engage with, inform and influence the skills agenda locally and nationally through partnerships with relevant stakeholders
- Attend appropriate networking events, seminars, conferences and exhibitions to promote and maximise opportunities for the College.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments within own areas of responsibility in order to act and develop best practice and provide professional advice.
- Deputise for the Director of Strategic Partnerships as appropriate.
