Description Visit NC is seeking a detail-oriented candidate with strong project management skills who takes initiative and excels in fostering strategic relationships. This role requires travel, so the ideal candidate should be adaptable and ready to engage with local tourism offices, tourism businesses and local, state and federal partners on-site and at industry events as needed. Familiarity with various marketing techniques and platforms is essential, as the position will be responsible for implementing strategies that drive results. Support the tourism office’s mission to unify and lead the state in developing North Carolina as a major destination for leisure travel, group tours, meetings and conventions, sports events and film production through engagement with domestic groups, the sports events industry and industry partners. Represent Visit North Carolina in a professional manner, demonstrating sound judgment and professional behavior with industry partners, clients, etc. Coordinate Salesforce entries to assist in tracking and evaluating team performance. Develop and manage domestic groups and trade familiarization tours and missions as needed. Develop, implement and direct domestic group travel marketing strategy as needed; Facilitate introductions between in-state partners and group tour operators and sports event organizers. Provide timely information to partners on policy issues, market trends and programs within the state. Serve as direct liaison to oversee and direct Visit NC’s investment in NC Sports Association. Assist in the promotion and support of the NC Esports grant in collaboration with the NC Department of Commerce. Maintain and update SportsNC.com and SportsNC owned channels including LinkedIn Assist with implementation of the Outdoor NC partner program. Assist in developing and reviewing content for Outdoor NC owned channels including social media, email and website. Deliver monthly partner communications for Outdoor NC and PIR department. Maintain and update Visit NC's LinkedIn for partner communications. Assist as needed with community development and Retire NC. Manage and enhance promotional efforts in the state as a result of ongoing partnerships Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive insights and emerging media/marketing technologies. Support sustainable efforts to protect, preserve and promote the state’s natural, historic and cultural resources Collaborate with state agencies to elevate awareness of tourism’s impact Other duties as the supervisor deems necessary. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required Minimum 2-5 years marketing experience required KEY COMPETENCIES: Use sound judgement to make good decisions based on information. Consider all facts before deciding on the most appropriate action Maintain high level of productivity, discernment and self-direction Complete work in a timely manner taking responsibility for job performance Plan and organize tasks and work responsibilities to achieve objectives Skilled in relationship building and networking with a diverse population of organizations and associations Highly developed oral and written communication skills Excellent time management skills, including the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and prioritize multiple projects Team orientation and ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates and supervisors LICENSES AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Valid driver’s license and US Passport required
