Description The Role at a Glance – Bill Jacobs Volkswagen Parts Advisor We are excited to add an accomplished Parts Advisor to join our high-performance team. The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy individual with great organizational and communication skills and a strong work ethic. Parts Advisors assist our customers (both internal and external) with all of their parts needs while creating an overall positive experience. What you'll be doing The Parts Advisor will provide accurate, fast, and courteous service to technicians, retail, and wholesale customers. List and price out parts on repair orders and/or counter tickets. Retrieve parts from their appropriate shelves and dedicated locations within the parts department. Write purchase orders for parts as needed from outside suppliers and obtain management approval. Properly input lost sales and sales into the inventory control system. Maintain records of all special-order parts and notify the person who authorized the order of receipt. Maintain the special-order parts inventory in a clean and orderly manner. Ensure technicians turn in all defective parts necessary for warranty scrap and tag them appropriately. Participate in conducting perpetual inventory. What’s it like to work here? Requirements What we’re looking for Must-haves: Knowledge of automotive repairs, processes, and the use of parts catalogs. Computer proficiency Ability to identify, comprehend, and act on changing customer requirements Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in conditions such as varying temperatures, noise, and fumes. Ability to work Saturdays and some holidays. Nice-to-haves: Prior automotive parts advisors/parts counter experience a plus. Prior CDK experience a plus
