Summary:
Responsible for the selling, receiving, and delivery of parts. They maintain inventory and a clean and orderly department along with holding responsibility of employee’s duties when they are on leave.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four to six years related experience and/or training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical requirements for this position include the following:

  • Environment: Frequently works inside/outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Environment: Occasional exposure to excessive loud noise
  • Environment: Frequent Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, chemicals, etc.
  • Lifting and carrying: Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, reaching: Must be capable of frequent twisting and bending down to pick up items from lower shelves, and reaching up for items stored at higher levels.
  • Vision: Must have at least 20/40 acuity in each eye with or without correction.
  • Hearing: Ability to perceive a “forced whisper” at a distance of 5 feet or less, with or without hearing aids.
  • Mobility: Capability to climb into and out of trucks, which may involve using steps or ladders.
  • Dexterity in operating controls such as steering wheels, pedals, and gear shifts.
  • Standing: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a certain percentage of the workday, such as 50% or more
  • Walking: Regularly moving about on foot within the work area, which may involve navigating through tight spaces or uneven surfaces.
  • Hand Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and arms for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching, typing, etc.
  • Sitting: Frequent sitting while using a computer, operating a vehicle, operating a forklift, driving a golf cart, sitting at a desk, attending meetings, trainings, seminars, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Schedules back counter personnel when employees are on leave.
  • Assigns back counter parts staff to answer service counter phone when Service Advisors are busy or away from service counter.
  • Schedules monthly Parts Talk and Supplier Training Webinars.
  • Purges back counter special-order bin every two weeks.
  • Keeps back counter area organized.
  • Writes and submits reviews for the back-parts counter staff members.
  • Processes customer quotes for service counter through designated program.
  • Always greets customers politely and professionally, offering them assistance.
  • Assists Service Advisors with any parts questions.
  • Processes parts request from technician.
  • Pulls orders and delivers parts to technician.
  • Inspects cores for return eligibility.
  • Helps train new parts apprentice.
  • Assists with inbound phone calls in Service Advisor’s absence.
  • Assists all customers in a friendly, professionally manner.
  • Process cycle counts on assigned locations monthly.
  • Completes company trainings associated with Back Parts Counter Job role.
  • Notifies Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts and materials that need immediate attention.
  • Follows up on back ordered parts.
  • Maintains familiarity with all inventory products, merchandising programs, and ordering systems.
  • Keeps department clean and orderly.
  • Keeps current on new products and product updates.
  • Prepares detail estimates for customers.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying abnormalities, reporting suspicious activity and/or content, and contributing to the resolve of cyber security problems.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
