Purpose of Position: Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, the Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for selling parts over the front counter and back counter. Supervises: N/A Essential Job Functions: Handles parts requirements of customer through counter service and telephone sales. Invoices and pulls parts correctly. Places parts in the appropriate area or customer pick-up delivery. Adds Service Department parts to Ro and issues to technician in a timely manner. Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner. Advises the customer on any changes to orders such as substitutions or modifications. Assists in keeping parts area clean and shelves stocked and orderly. Assists in physical stock inventory. Required Skills/ Abilities: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Inventory software. Preferred Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Preferred Qualifications: Parts knowledge for all Freightliner models.
