Description Job Title: Parts Driver Reports To: Parts Manager Summary: Loads, delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership quickly, accurately and efficiently. Ensures that correct and undamaged parts are being delivered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Greets external and internal customers in a timely, professional, smiling and friendly manner. Listens actively, providing accurate information and advise. 2. Drives company vehicle legally, safely and courteously at all times. Driver will not smoke in any company vehicle. 3. Uses independent judgment when driving to, from or at designated route location. 4. Loads and properly secures all parts to be delivered that day. 5. Unloads truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts. 6. Issues receipts to customers. 7. Notifies Parts Manager of any deliveries unable to be made in a timely manner so that other arrangements can be made. 8. Able to work independently or as part of a team. 9. Able to accept change gracefully. 10. Responsible for timely pick up and deliveries to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts and vendors. 11. Verifies that invoice matches purchase order for pick-up. 12. Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests the recipient’s signature on each delivery entry. 13. Makes sure Parts Manager knows exact location by use of telephone or pager system made available. 14. Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed. 15. Notifies manager immediately of any accident and/or citation. Completes any forms needed to proceed with anything to do with accident and/or citation. 16. Advises manager if parts vehicle needs major repairs and maintenance. 17. Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department. 18. Prioritizes and performs multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet and exceed deadlines and expectations. 19. Communicates clearly both verbally and non-verbally. Submits concise, complete and clear legible records for both dealership and customer use. 20. Maintains assigned work area, break room, and dressing room in an organized and clean manner. Exhibiting pride in the work area and dealership. 21. Maintains personal cleanliness, grooming and uniform standards according to dealership guidelines. 22. Arrives at work, takes breaks, and departs work at scheduled times. Accrues overtime only with management authorization. 23. Displays high standard of ethical conduct. Refrains from unethical, dishonest and theft related behavior. Exhibits integrity, adhering to all company policies, including our commitment to ZERO TOLERANCE of discrimination and work place violence. 24. Aligns behavior with the needs, priorities and goals of the organization. Fosters commitment, pride, trust and team spirit. 25. Utilizes supplies and materials in a practical, economical manner. Handles all toxic chemicals and hazardous waste according to the dealerships current policies and procedures. 26. Reports to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, it’s employees or customers. 27. Communicates every day, with direct supervisor if it is necessary to be late or absent. 28. Other job duties as required. Supervisory responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
