Description

MaxiPARTS is an ASX-listed leader in truck and trailer parts distribution, with a reputation built on safety, service, and reliability. Guided by our values, we foster an inclusive and diverse culture that reflects the customers we serve.

We’re seeking a Parts Interpreter with mechanical know-how and a customer-first mindset to thrive in our dynamic team.

Why this role matters

As our Parts Interpreter for the Townsville Branch, you’ll be the go-to person for sourcing, identifying, and supplying the right parts for our customers. Whether over the counter, by phone, or online, you’ll play a vital role in keeping Australia’s truck and trailer industry moving.

Success isn’t about years of experience—it’s about being proactive, customer-focused, and using your mechanical knowledge to deliver solutions. This role suits both experienced Parts Interpreters and mechanically skilled tradespeople looking to step off the tools.

What success looks like

  • Helping customers find the right parts—by phone, email, or over the counter
  • Using catalogues and systems to identify and supply correct truck or trailer parts
  • Preparing quotes and processing sales orders efficiently and accurately
  • Following up on deliveries and keeping customers informed
  • Coordinating with suppliers and warehouse teams to ensure part availability
  • Promoting online ordering tools and current promotions
  • Assisting with stock control, stocktakes, and branch organisation
  • Supporting daily operations as needed
  • Following safety protocols and meeting Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Experience as a Parts Interpreter—ideally in truck, trailer, or automotive industries; OR a strong mechanical trade background with an interest in parts
  • Solid knowledge of vehicle parts and cataloguing systems
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Good computer and inventory system skills
  • A customer-first mindset and proactive team attitude
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
