As a Shop Parts Person, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the shop and field by managing the inventory and distribution of parts necessary for repairs and maintenance. Your primary responsibilities will include organizing, distributing, and managing the inventory of parts and supplies for the inventory cage. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a good understanding of power generation and engine parts are essential for success in this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Parts Order Management Place orders for parts and supplies to replenish caged inventory. Organize parts orders and keep track of every work order’s completion status. Track parts orders and ensure timely delivery. Inspect all parts received to make sure there is no damage and are of the quality needed. Distribute parts to mechanics and technicians as requested, ensuring accuracy is met. Handle inquiries and issues regarding parts orders and inventory. Update and keep track of all outbound work orders. Maintain documentation of all transactions, including invoices, receipts, and returns. Request RMA’s and return all eligible parts in a timely manner. Inventory Management Maintain accurate stock levels of internal caged inventory. Daily cycle counts. Report variances to management for internal adjustments. Generate reports related to inventory levels and parts usage. Maintain documentation of all transactions, including invoices, receipts, and returns. Safety Report all recognized unsafe conditions or acts to management. Wear proper PPE when necessary. Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings as required. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Parts Estimator with placing orders for work orders (when necessary). Attend training sessions as required. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements COMPETENCIES EDUCATION High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES Valid Texas driver license EXPERIENCE Proven experience as a parts person, preferably in an automotive shop or similar environment. Strong knowledge of automotive or machinery parts and their functions. Previous experience using inventory systems and handling parts sourcing.
