JOB TITLE: Parts Manager
DEPARTMENT: Parts
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
The role of the Parts Manager at M&R Power Equipment is to operate and run a profitable parts department while providing world-class service to the Company’s Customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High-school diploma
  • MS Office knowledge preferred.
  • At least one year of Customer service experience preferred.
  • At least one year of Customer service and management experience preferred.
  • Proven people skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring, and evaluating direct reports as assigned.
  • Exceptional communication skills, presentation, negotiation, and management skills, strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor required.
  • Prior knowledge of small engine and two-cycle equipment preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs.
  • Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required.
  • Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays.
  • Verifies receipt of shipment and assists with placing inventory in their proper locations.
  • Assists in keeping the parts department clean and orderly.
  • Follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting to Store Manager
  • Assisting in maintenance of all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Manage, train, mentor and evaluate the parts team, including on Saturdays.
  • Develop and deploy plans to increase sales group performance.
  • Work with sales representatives to bring in new business.
  • Deliver a written department plan as requested. Including any request for resources or marketing support
  • Be prepared to provide detailed reports to the President and/or Management Team on a weekly/monthly basis. (Revenue forecast and activity; both personal targets and parts team performance)
  • Maintains supplier relationships by identifying best source, examining products, communicating, and enforcing requirements.
  • Obtains parts and supplies by inventorying items, preparing, and placing purchase orders, receiving, inspecting, and storing items.
  • Maintains inventory by designing storeroom layout, establishing re-order points, completing inventory as scheduled.
  • Maintains product information by reading technical manuals and bulletins, pricing information to drivers and mechanics.
  • Keeps inventory database up to date by inputting receipts and usage
