Description

About the Role

Sunstate Truck Group is seeking an experienced Truck Parts Manager to lead our Parts Department on a full-time basis at our modern Wellcamp facility.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and progressive dealership representing the rapidly expanding Sitrak truck brand. As Parts Manager, you will play a key role in establishing and growing a professional parts operation that supports our workshop, retail customers, transport operators and fleet clients across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland.

Reporting directly to the dealership leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts sales, inventory management, procurement, warehousing and customer service. You'll help build a high-performing department that delivers exceptional customer support while maintaining strong inventory control and profitability.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in building processes, leading people and creating an efficient, customer-focused parts operation. If you're looking for an opportunity to help shape the future of a growing dealership, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient workflow.
  • Manage and develop relationships with retail customers, workshops, transport operators and fleet customers.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels through effective forecasting, ordering and inventory management.
  • Monitor parts availability and coordinate procurement from manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Oversee receipting, warehousing, stock storage and dispatch processes.
  • Develop and implement parts sales strategies to achieve departmental targets and growth objectives.
  • Work closely with the Service Department to ensure timely parts supply for workshop jobs and vehicle repairs.
  • Monitor inventory performance, stock turns, obsolescence and stock accuracy.
  • Conduct regular stocktakes and ensure inventory records remain accurate.
  • Analyse sales and inventory data to identify opportunities for improvement and profitability.
  • Manage supplier relationships, warranty parts processing and freight logistics.
  • Lead, mentor and support Parts Department staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a Parts Manager, Senior Parts Interpreter or Parts Supervisory role within the heavy vehicle, automotive, agricultural or equipment industries.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement and warehousing practices.
  • Proven experience achieving parts sales and inventory performance targets.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage margins, stock investment and departmental profitability.
  • Experience using dealer management systems and inventory software.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
