REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Automotive/truck parts, and inventory management experience required.
  • Comfortable with using parts inventory computer software.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with coworkers and vendors.
  • Ability to positively and proactively handle “customer” concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.

• Ability to lift 90 lbs. • Forklift operation.

  • Responsible, dependable, and on time.
  • Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

The selected applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Researching and ordering parts and supplies from outside vendors and manufacturers to support operational and maintenance needs across all Barney Trucking locations in multiple states.
  • Parts purchasing and inventory controls for multiple locations companywide including monitoring and maintaining inventory levels and inventory control.
  • Helping to maintain a well-organized parts department
  • Helping to maintain optimal inventory levels through appropriate reorder points, consideration of carrying costs, inventory turns, reduced parts obsolescence, etc.
  • Ensuring parts are being accurately expensed to repair orders at all locations.
  • Coordinating and communicating with the service department to ensure parts are available, ordered, delivered and accounted for in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating with the warranty manager and service team to ensure all warranty parts are tagged, shelved, and accounted for, and documented, etc.
  • Assist with providing necessary training and cross-training to ensure proper inventory functions can be performed in the event key personnel take time off, etc.
  • Assisting with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
