Position Overview: This role is crucial for managing the daily operations and organization of the parts room, supporting both maintenance and production teams. The primary responsibility is to ensure the uptime of critical equipment by efficiently receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking parts and supplies. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, processing requisitions, conducting cycle counts, and collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position is essential for maintaining operational reliability and supporting plant performance. Work Schedule: Primary Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Must be able to work any shift; Sunday-Wednesday, Thursday-Sunday 8am-8pm/8pm-8am. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including quantities, locations, and usage. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure stock levels meet operational needs. Utilize inventory management software (SAP) or tools to track movement and update inventory status. Parts Procurement: Coordinate with procurement or purchasing departments to order replacement parts as needed. Research suppliers and ensure timely delivery of parts to minimize equipment downtime. Verify received parts against purchase orders and packing slips, resolving any discrepancies promptly. Organization and Maintenance: Organize parts storage areas for easy accessibility and efficient retrieval. Label parts bins, shelves, or storage containers to enhance identification and streamline inventory management. Implement appropriate storage practices to preserve the quality and integrity of parts. Distribution and Allocation: Respond to maintenance requests by promptly retrieving and distributing required parts to maintenance personnel. Prioritize urgent requests and communicate any delays or shortages to relevant stakeholders. Ensure proper documentation of parts issuance and maintain records for accountability and traceability purposes. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Handle and store parts in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to the overall safety culture of the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Inspect the physical condition of warehouse inventory and equipment. Prepare materials for work orders and requisitions for equipment replacement. Ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control and purchasing. Salvage damaged or used material and/or its disposal. Check all issued equipment (including hand and portable power tools) and ensure they are inspected and replaced when needed. Ensure all flammables are returned for proper storage and/or disposal. Safely operate forklifts or other equipment utilized in the warehouse area or for parts and/or supply delivery (training will be provided). Other duties may be assigned. Requirements: Experience: General knowledge and experience with parts and tools preferred. Inventory experience is also preferred. Computers: General knowledge of computer skills is required. Experience with Excel & SAP is preferred. Internal Candidates: No more than 6 points, no written warnings within the previous 6 months, no written warnings with suspensions within the previous 12 months. The transfer waiting period is 90 days from the date hired.
