Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in managing the flow of goods in and out of the facility. This position is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments; preparing and processing outgoing orders; maintaining inventory records; and ensuring timely fulfillment of customer and internal requests. The role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with warehouse systems, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Core Job Responsibilities Accept and document packages and deliveries made to the facility. Store items received in appropriate storage areas. Prepare items for shipping, noting item contents, delivery methods, and other logistical details. Track inventory and maintain and keep accurate records. Inspect goods for damage and resolve any shipping or storage issues as they arise. Print shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing slips). Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Distribute products to other departments as needed. Maintain a clearly organized workspace and ensure compliance with safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned by department manager. Competencies Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, inventory counts, and shipment inspections. Maintains organization in the workspace and efficiently manage multiple tasks. Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and other departments. Identifies and resolves discrepancies or issues in shipping and receiving processes. Provides customer service support to internal and external customers. Handles several responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Prior warehouse experience with a minimum of 1 year experience. Forklift experience and certification with a minimum of 1 year experience. Proficiency with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). Physical strength and stamina to lift, carry, and unpack heavy items. Ability to bend, crouch, and stand for long periods. GED or High School degree required.
