Description

What are you going to do?
Are you a curious and motivated student looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional software team alongside your studies? At Nedap Security, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on our innovative access control systems. If you’re excited by the idea of improving software quality through test automation and eager to learn from experienced QA specialists, this is the perfect part-time job for you!
At Security, we develop high-quality solutions for Identity and Access Management, designed to offer simple management and configuration for our customers. End users appreciate our solutions because they enable a safe and trusted environment for their employees, while effectively preventing unauthorized access.
AEOS is our highly secure on-premises access control solution — easy to use, intrinsically secure, and open for integrations. Designed for critical infrastructures, AEOS is currently deployed worldwide by over 6,000 leading organizations to manage and monitor access to their facilities. Are you ready to help make AEOS even more complete and secure?

Your responsibilities

  • Strengthen our test strategy: You’ll support the team in designing, expanding, and improving our automated test landscape. Thanks to your contribution, we can deliver new features with greater confidence and continue raising the quality of our AEOS product;
  • Automate with impact: You’ll develop and maintain automated tests to ensure the product is both functionally and technically well-covered;
  • Contribute to quality: You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary product team where you help build and evolve our test automation infrastructure;
  • Learn agile practices hands-on: You’ll work with modern agile methodologies (such as Scrum, TDD/BDD), join team rituals, and practice giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Your team
As a student test automation engineer, you’ll collaborate in a multidisciplinary product team that includes a Product Owner, UX Designer, developers, QA specialists, and a team coach. Together, you build high-quality software with a strong focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration. You’ll receive close guidance from experienced colleagues and also have room to contribute independently to the quality of our solutions.
Clear communication and an informal working atmosphere create a dynamic environment where everyone is encouraged to share their insights.
Our offer
As a student, you’ll have plenty of room to take the lead in your work. Personal leadership and ownership are key, even for students! You’ll collaborate with passionate professionals from whom you can learn a lot.
As a thank you for your contribution, we organize a “Nedap Student Day” every six months – a fun day together with all other interns, graduates, and student workers at Nedap. You’ll receive a competitive monthly salary, based on your age, responsibilities, and (academic) experience.
Required experience and skills
As a student test automation engineer, you’re driven to continuously improve software quality and grow as a QA specialist. You already have some programming experience and understand the importance of proper test automation in professional software development.

You recognize yourself in the following:

  • Education: You are currently in the third or fourth year of your bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • Technical skills: You have experience with Java. Knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript is a plus;
  • Testing knowledge: You’re interested in, or have experience with, test tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, and Gherkin;
  • Communication: You communicate clearly and enjoy working within a team;
  • Language: You have excellent command of Dutch and/or English.

Good to know: You’re available for 16–24 hours per week. Hybrid (remote) working is common at Nedap, and you’ll coordinate your working hours with your team to ensure a healthy work-life balance. You’re expected to be present at least twice a week on our campus in Groenlo.
