Job Details Job Location: Texas Institute for Surgery LL SURG - Dallas, TX 75231 Position Type: Full-time Job Summary The Staff Nurse of the Inpatient Department utilizes the Nursing process to provide care to patients undergoing medical procedures. The Staff Nurse adheres to the standards of care and practice and acts as a resource to other staff members. Job Details Provides safe and direct individual patient care utilizing the nursing process. Adheres to standards of care and practice. Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. Documents nursing care and supplies in a relevant and concise manner that demonstrates compliance with policy and awareness of medical/legal implications. Acts as physician-patient (family) liaison. Acts as patient advocate by providing appropriate teaching to patient and/or significant other. Adheres to the rules and regulations of the Texas BON and NPA Delegates tasks appropriate to the skill level of personnel. Maintains a working knowledge and thorough understanding of all equipment and utilities and provides knowledgeable guidance and evaluation of the environment of care management including life safety (fire prevention), security, hazardous materials and waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, and the safe use of medical equipment and utilities. Must work within scope of practice. Qualifications Education Requirements An associate’s degree is required. Licensure Requirements Registered Nurse in the State of Texas Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Basic Cardiac Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Experience Requirements 1-3 years of acute care as a registered Nurse. Skills Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail and follow through. Ability to use math and statistics to analyze data.
