JOB SUMMARY

The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) is the MOD’s civilian police force which provides a number of specialist capabilities including armed protection, marine policing and criminal investigation. MDP employ approximately 3000 staff at locations across the UK, with its Headquarters located at RAF Wyton, Huntingdon, Cambs.
The MDP Admin Support post sits within MDP Headquarters, in the Performance, Assurance and Standards Department,(PAS) and is responsible for supporting all elements within PAS giving the post holder a wide range of knowledge and variety.
PAS holds the Corporate and Annual Business Plans which are structured to give the Force a framework for successful delivery. It also manages Risk for the MDP, Assurance and Performance. The post will work closely with MDP colleagues in identifying key information and assessing risks / issues to business outputs that could impact future performance.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:

  • To provide administrative support to the team, including scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms and managing calendars.
  • In Support of the Performance team you could be asked to help download reports, chase data requests from other departments, sanity check data before passing onto the data analysists.
  • Administration and maintenance pertaining to the PAS SharePoint site.
  • Monitoring the multi-user email accounts and responding to queries effectively and within the required time frame where possible
  • Assist in the Assurance team with scheduling station Assurance inspections and booking accommodation if required.
  • Support to Hd of Governance in the strategic meetings and data collection when required.
  • Carrying out ad-hoc administrative tasks and research.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations and other documents as needed.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
