POSITION SUMMARY

As part of transformation and alignment of the Mandarin Worship Service (MWS) with the Church’s mission, vision and core values, you will oversee and steer the spiritual and ministry direction of the Mandarin Worship Service (MWS), including chairing the MWS committee meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

• A mature disciple who have evidence of a growing relationship with Christ Jesus through spiritual disciplines.
• Experience in ministering to young adults either in a church or parachurch setting.
• Minimum 2 years of formal theological training. Those without theological training but with plans to progress to seminary education may first be considered for ministry staff position.
• Skills in preaching and teaching will be an advantage.
• Possess passion and genuine love for reaching out to Mandarin speaking community and desire to see them grow and live out their faith in everyday lives.
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to connect with seniors, Mandarin speaking community and families.
• Possess strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• A team player who takes a collaborative approach to engage all stakeholders.
• Able to work weekends with Monday off.

1. You will manage the day to day running of the MWS as follows:
   a. Manage the weekly services and discipleship classes to share Christ’s love and nurture holistic spiritual growth among MWS congregants. This includes enhancing the worship experience of the congregants.
   b. Plan preaching schedule and speakers to ensure that sermons and topics are consistent to the doctrinal statements and church direction.
   c. Preach and equip small group leaderss, teaching congregants to encounter the gospel of Jesus, grow in their personal relationship and commitment to Christ and His mission.
   d. Develop the discipleship groups for both adult congregants and children.
   e. If candidate is ordained, he may be required to administer the sacraments of the church (baptism and Holy Communion) and perform special services such as weddings and funerals.
   f. Develop a welcoming and nurturing environment to cultivate authentic relationships among members as well as new comers.
   g. Provide pastoral care and mentoring the MWS congregants so that they are cared for, individually and as a group. This includes providing pastoral counselling and visitations.
   h. Explore opportunities with other ministries and participate in the church’s outreach initiatives.
   i. You will engage, equip and build up a team of volunteers to support the MWS ministry. Model and foster spiritual growth amongst team towards a Christ-centered life through the service.
   j. Prepare and manage the MWS annual budget to ensure good stewardship of funds and expenditures.
   k. Monitor, review and provide regular updates to the pastoral team and various stakeholders to ensure visibility and alignment to the wider church.
