    An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Pastoral Care Associate to join our Pastoral care team.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Completion of formal Pastoral Care training,
  • Proven experience in a similar role and have a good knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role.
  • A passion for working with older people, well organised, have sound interpersonal skills and have the ability to listen and adapt communication to the audience
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail and in-house databases)
  • Ability to build strong internal relationships and excel at creating safe, harmonious environments that bring out the best in everyone.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the Pastoral Care Coordinator (PCC), this role will see you develop, implement, evaluate and continuously improve Southern Cross Care’s Pastoral Care strategy, in both the residential and community setting.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with the coordination of Pastoral Care services across the organisation whilst supporting residents, families and staff in a manner which reflects the dignity, spirituality and emotional well-being of each individual.
  • Ensures that each resident’s spiritual and religious care is optimised.
  • Actively contributes to the ongoing development of a spiritual community
