Job Description In this role, you will support the Assistant Headteacher to provide leadership, vision and direction across the school, with a particular focus on behaviour, personal development and welfare. You will help drive high-quality, compliant education provision that improves sustainable outcomes for marginalised young people. You will oversee a holistic, person-centred approach to each learner’s journey, building strong relationships with young people and families through individual sessions, group work and multi-agency collaboration. You will contribute to the design and delivery of an innovative SEMH curriculum, promote high expectations for behaviour and achievement, and support continuous school improvement. As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure all safeguarding and child protection procedures are fully embedded and compliant with statutory guidance. You will line manage Teaching Assistants, support staff development, monitor performance data, and contribute to quality assurance and Ofsted readiness. You will also support the safe and effective running of the school site, ensuring compliance with Independent School Standards, health and safety, and operational policies. Qualifications Essential: Relevant professional qualification (e.g. teaching, youth work, social work, counselling, mentoring – minimum NVQ Level 2) Level 2 English and Maths Experience supporting young people with additional needs Desirable: Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS/QTLS) or willingness to work towards Team leader qualification Additional Information The post-holder will need to have access to a personal vehicle for work related purposes.
