St John of God Bendigo Hospital We are seeking a qualified Pastoral Services Manager to join our team in a permanent 0.8 FTE capacity. Our areas of speciality include inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, surgical, general medicine, oncology, day surgery, maternity and CCU. This role involves rotation across these wards along with mentoring and supervision for students and new caregivers. The position is a permanent part‑time role working 30.4 hours per week. Days and hours may be negotiated for the suitable candidate, with some after‑hours and weekend support required as part of the role. The Pastoral Services Manager is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Pastoral Services within the Hospital/Service and for providing leadership and coordination to ensure the delivery of holistic pastoral care to patients and clients. This role works collaboratively with other SJGHC hospital and service caregivers to embed and integrate a contemporary, patient‑centred model of pastoral care across the organisation. The role directly contributes to patient safety and comfort by maintaining essential plant, equipment and compliance standards. The Position Lead and manage a team in addition to maintaining caseload duties (as determined at hospital/service level in consultation with National Manager Pastoral Services.) Accountability for financial stewardship of the pastoral budget. Responsibility for implementing group strategic direction and workforce planning at a local level. Accountability for effective and timely service delivery which meets performance indicators, resource management and compliance regarding quality, safety and best practice. Foster a culture of integrity, professionalism, accountability within the Pastoral Services team in order to maintain the highest standard of Pastoral Practice. Lead and manage complex strategic initiatives, impart vision, and engage with key internal and external stakeholders. You will have completed a tertiary‑level qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Social Work, Counselling, Pastoral Theology, or Nursing, along with a minimum of five years’ experience providing pastoral care to individuals from a diverse range of faith, cultural, and social backgrounds. To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to effectively manage change and navigate complex situations, along with a proven capacity to understand, respond to, and resolve conflict in a professional and constructive manner.Formal studies in ethics relevant to the healthcare sector and/or Catholic identity are highly desirable. The Benefits: Salary: $124,196 to $137,946 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation A Permanent part time role, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight.
